Note from Crystal

I began writing the book Strength by Love to give my voice a venue to be heard. After going up against Mental Health professionals and school personnel with my son, I felt I needed to do something more. Throughout every meeting, conference or discussion about my son's care, I was never taken seriously, my voice was not heard even when I begged, pleaded and cried for help! Now, I have made it my mission to spread the word about today's wonderfully gifted children in hopes to raise awareness and better understanding among those that have authority over them.
I wrote Grandpa Went to Heaven when my sister posed the question of explaining the death of our terminally ill father to her 3 year old son were it to happen. That night a poem came to me and I had to get up and write it down. I thought it would make a great children's book to aid in explaining death to children. The next day my father was in the hospital having a cancerous tumor removed from his bladder. Thankfully we have not had to have that discussion yet with my nephew. I am glad though that when the time comes, we have this book to help us.
